Fort Washington, PA (March 3, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a highway in Fort Washington on Thursday morning, March 3.

According to local officials, the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike around the area of exit 340, Virginia Drive. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.

The center lane of traffic was blocked in the area for some time following the accident.
