Galeton, PA – Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Bridge St

Galeton, PA (January 4, 2022) – Around 5:15 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, December 29, a serious hit-and-run pedestrian accident took place in Galeton.

Police in Galeton Borough confirmed that the accident happened at 16 Bridge Street across from the local Nittany Minit Mart. A 91-year-old male pedestrian was attempting to cross the street in the area when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling through the area. The driver did not stop at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to assist those in need. The male pedestrian suffered a head injury and bruises and was transported to the hospital. He received staples to close his head wound and is recovering at home.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes following the collision as police worked to clear the scene. Police did not yet confirm if they found the driver responsible for the accident.
