April 4, 2022

Millville, NJ (April 4, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from an apartment fire that broke out in Millville on Monday, April 4.

According to officials, the fire broke out past midnight in an apartment building on North High Street. Fire crews were dispatched to the scene, where they found that smoke and flames were pouring out of the building on the third floor of the complex. The fire started to spread incredibly quickly and a second alarm was sounded. When fire crews gained access to the inside of the building, they started to fight the heavy flames and get people out through the window.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene. All of the individuals inside the apartment were brought outside to safety. However, a total of five people were hospitalized with minor burns and smoke inhalation-related injuries. A total of seven tenants have also been displaced from their home.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time until fire crews were able to bring the fire under control.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
