Truck Accidents in Pennsylvania

Large tractor-trailers can weigh up to 80,000 pounds. According to data released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in one recent year, over 345,000 truck-related accidents happened in the entire U.S. In 2015, approximately 7,465 big truck accidents happened in all of Pennsylvania. Because tractor-trailers navigate our major highways every day and Philadelphia is jam-packed full of these highways, truck accidents are more likely to occur in the city. Commercial truck accidents are becoming far too common in Pennsylvania and beyond. Though truck drivers are supposed to watch out for the safety of others, these accidents still occur every day due to the following reasons:

  • Drivers who fall asleep at the wheel due to too much time spent on the road
  • Drivers who are driving while distracted
  • Intoxicated driving
  • Speeding to a destination

If you have been hurt in a serious truck accident, it is time to move forward with the help of an attorney.

Many people do not know how severe a truck accident can really be until it has affected their life in different ways. Many truck accidents are preventable but still happen when drivers are not focused on the roads before them. Though your first thought may be to blame the truck driver, this is not always the case. Other parties can be responsible for a truck accident as well. These include trucking companies, cargo loaders, and manufacturers. Because a truck accident can quickly become complex, it is imperative that you have the assistance of a Philadelphia truck accident attorney on your side.
