Chester City, PA (April 28, 2023) – During the early evening of Friday, April 28, just before 6:00 p.m., a serious vehicle collision reportedly happened on a major Chester City roadway, leaving a handful of victims injured at the scene.
Authorities said the collision occurred on southbound I-95 between Highland Avenue and Route 420. At least two cars were involved in a rear-end accident around 5:45 p.m., according to preliminary information from the Philadelphia Police Department.
Emergency medical services, fire departments, and others from the surrounding area rushed to the scene of the multiple-car crash to provide help. However, how many people were evaluated or hospitalized after the incident due to injuries sustained is unknown.
As a consequence of the impact, traffic in many right lanes was diverted. As of Friday night, investigators still didn’t know what caused the crash and hadn’t provided any new details.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their loved ones at this time.
Multi-Vehicle Crashes in Pennsylvania
The state’s highways and other large, heavily-traveled thoroughfares, especially those that run through its densely populated cities, are among the most hazardous regions in the country for catastrophic car accidents. Needless to say, way too many collisions occur on our roads every year. Furthermore, analysts used 2020’s data to predict that, by the end of 2022, Pennsylvania will record at least 100,000 vehicle accidents involving several drivers.
This sort of accident may happen in the blink of an eye if drivers on the surrounding streets and roads are careless or ignore traffic signs and signals. Moreover, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), driving while distracted by a mobile phone or radio, and driving at excessive speeds may all lead to car crashes.
Every motorist has a legal obligation to drive safely and avoid putting themselves, other motorists, and pedestrians at risk. Unfortunately, not all motorists drive in an acceptable manner. Careless drivers put everyone else on the road at risk of being engaged in serious collisions. There might be high psychological, physiological, and monetary costs.
Needless to say, legal representation would be invaluable from gathering sufficient proof of carelessness to fulfilling state filing requirements and beyond.
You and any family members who were hurt in the collision should immediately talk to a personal injury lawyer in the Philadelphia area.
