Philadelphia, PA (May 30, 2026) – Four children and an adult were injured on Thursday, May 28, after a driver struck them and fled on Marple Street in Philadelphia’s Holmesburg neighborhood. The crash happened around 6:04 p.m. in the 4700 block of Marple Street.
Authorities said a burgundy Chrysler 300 hit the group before the driver left the area. A parent reportedly chased the driver, and officers later took one person into custody in connection with the collision.
All five victims were taken to hospitals for treatment. A 4-year-old boy was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and remained in critical condition.
An adult woman and a 5-year-old girl were taken to Einstein Medical Center. A 3-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl were taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. The four other victims were reported to be in stable condition with minor injuries.
Investigators recovered the vehicle involved and placed it into evidence. Authorities had not released the identity of the driver at the time of publication.
