Jackson Township, NJ (April 13, 2022) – An elderly man was killed in a scooter accident that took place at a Jackson Township intersection on Monday night, April 11.
According to Jackson Police, the accident happened around 9:25 p.m. at the intersection of Jackson Mills Road and Harmony Road. An elderly man was traveling in the area on his scooter when he was suddenly struck by a black Ford F-150 that was traveling through the intersection. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 64-year-old man, stopped and remained at the scene following the accident.
Several local responders, including paramedics and local fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The scooter driver, identified as an 81-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.
