Middle Paxton Township, PA (September 16, 2024) – According to officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, along with Lancaster County authorities, a person was killed in a car crash on Route 22/322 on Sunday, September 15.
Per troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), who responded to the site, the incident happened on Route 22/322 westbound near the Linglestown Road/Route 39 exit at about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday. Officers added that at least one driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released.
Per the PennDOT, the collision shut down a stretch of Route 22 for several hours. The scene has since cleared, and all lanes have reopened. The total number of wounded victims remains undisclosed so far, but emergency personnel transported at least one person to an area hospital for further examination. In the meantime, PSP authorities proceeded with their investigation, which is still active, and requested that any witnesses contact them.
