Philadelphia, PA (March 11, 2022) – On Friday, March 11, a child was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 4000 Aldine Street. A family member was in the driveway of a home when a 3-year-old child went to greet the individual. This is when the family member struck the child as they were opening the door. The child was then pinned between the car door and a tree that was on the side of the street.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 3-year-old child was rushed to a local hospital with severe trauma but she was tragically pronounced dead while there. The family member’s arm was also injured when they jumped from their moving vehicle to help the child.
The area was blocked off for an extended period of time following the accident. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
