Philadelphia, PA (January 27, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a roadway in Philadelphia on Wednesday evening, January 26.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 7 p.m. at 500 West Hunting Park Avenue. A man was allegedly walking in the area when he was struck by a passenger vehicle that immediately fled the scene. When police arrived at the scene, they found the 41-year-old man lying facedown on the street. There was debris left behind from a passenger vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for the collision.
