Philadelphia, PA (February 13, 2022) – Critical injuries were reported in a head-on collision that took place at a Philadelphia intersection on Saturday night, February 12.
Philadelphia Police confirmed that the accident happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Verree Road. A 19-year-old driver was in a Nissan traveling north on Verree when the vehicle suddenly slammed into a Dodge that was headed south and making a turn. This caused the Nissan to flip onto its roof, ejecting a total of three people. The vehicles were extensively damaged due to the crash.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 19-year-old, two adult passengers in the Nissan, and the 66-year-old driver of the Dodge, were all injured. The victims inside the Nissan were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time.
