Philadelphia, PA (June 15, 2022) – On Wednesday evening, June 15, a number of accident victims were allegedly injured in a multiple-driver event that is now under investigation by police in the greater Philadelphia area.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department and other authorities, the incident happened on westbound Interstate 76 between Exit 346 to University Avenue and Passyunk Avenue, creating traffic delays for nearly two miles. At 11:15 p.m., two cars transitioning between the right lanes of traffic collided for unexplained reasons.
The initial responses to the site included firefighters and emergency medical personnel. Two victims were wounded as a consequence of the incident and were taken to the hospital for treatment; however, their present conditions remain unclear.
The area was closed off for a brief time as police gathered information and cleaned up the accident site.
We’re thinking about those who were injured and wishing them a full and speedy recovery.
Philadelphia Multiple-Vehicle Accidents & Injuries
Car accidents are the leading cause of emergency department visits and hospitalizations in Pennsylvania. Worse, these crashes may happen almost anywhere in the Commonwealth, and they often happen in the blink of an eye.
On the other hand, densely populated areas and large metropolitan areas are two of the most prevalent locales for serious traffic accidents. Authorities say that, in only one recent year, roughly 11,900 serious vehicle wrecks took place across the span of Philadelphia County.
Even if you’re just trying to keep up with the traffic, speeding is a major factor in automobile accidents. As their speed rises, many motorists lose control of their vehicles. In the event of an unexpected change in road conditions or the conduct of other cars, a driver who is going too fast is unable to respond properly.
It goes without saying that excessive speed is often cited as a key contributing factor in car accidents. Even if it isn’t the root of the problem, speeding and reckless or distracted driving only exacerbate the impact of other risky habits.
