Pleasantville, NJ (April 28, 2022) – A teen was killed in a fatal bicycle accident that took place at an intersection in Pleasantville on Wednesday afternoon, April 27.
According to Pleasantville Police, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Loraine Avenue. A woman identified as 69-year-old Samia Youseff-Attala was headed south on Franklin when she entered the intersection, striking the bicyclist who was headed east on Loraine. The driver remained at the scene of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, identified as a 15-year-old male teen, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center by medical helicopter. He tragically passed away while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
