Philadelphia, PA (January 15, 2023) – Officials said that at least two to three victims sustained injuries in a serious car crash that took place in greater Philadelphia on Sunday, January 15th.

Right around the I-76 and the Ben Franklin Parkway exit, on the eastbound side of I-676/Vine Street Expressway, a collision occurred at about 4:55 p.m.

As soon as the incident took place, Philadelphia police officers and neighboring EMTs responded. But the exact cause behind the crash remains unclear.

The authorities are still looking into the cause behind the crash. PPD officers asked witnesses to come forward, but, in the meantime, the investigation is open and continuing.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their loved ones.

Car Accident Injuries in Pennsylvania

According to statistics and research from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, rear-end collisions were the second most common kind of car accident in one recent year alone. What’s more, all drivers statewide must be particularly careful due to the state’s high prevalence of multi-vehicle accidents, with Pennsylvania reporting a rate of over 20,000 wrecks annually.

Rear-ending other cars is a common way that careless motorists cause collisions. Per traffic analysts, drivers who disregard traffic signals, notably red lights and stop signs, are the main factor in rear-end collisions in Pennsylvania. While the facts in some rear-end crashes are, at best, hazy, it is clear who was at fault the majority of the time.

The degree of injuries inflicted when two automobiles crash from behind depends significantly on the speed of the incoming vehicle. Most rear-end collisions happen when one driver stops suddenly, causing the car behind them to slam into them.

Your car advances due to the inertia of the vehicle in front of you. When a person buckles their seat belt, the seat reclines automatically. So, hitting a seat or headrest at high speeds may result in serious injuries, some of which might not be apparent for many hours or days.

If you were critically injured in a rear-end collision as a result of someone else’s carelessness, you shouldn’t have to cover your own medical bills and other expenses out of pocket.

Unfortunately, the insurance company representing an at-fault driver may search for any excuse to avoid paying for your continued medical care, lost income, and future earning potential. In many cases, a victim’s best chance of securing the justice they deserve comes from consulting a skilled personal injury attorney.
