September 6, 2022

Philadelphia, PA (September 6, 2022) – A woman is dead after a hit-and-run accident that took place this weekend, and police are looking for the suspect driver.

A 26-year-old woman was killed early Saturday morning when she crossed the intersection of Whitaker Avenue and East Luzerne Street in Feltonville, according to police. She was taken to the hospital but later died.

Thus far, the investigation has shown that at around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, a gray or silver automobile turning left hit the woman and fled the scene.

No suspect has been apprehended, but police believe a charge of vehicular homicide is possible. The police also did not discover any wreckage, though they do anticipate that the alleged suspect’s automobile will have some damage.

Our sincerest sympathies are with the deceased victim’s loved ones and family members.

Since pedestrians are more likely to be struck by passing cars, they are often much more vulnerable when it comes to their security on the nation’s roadways and walkways. Two of the most notable instances are Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The enormous level of everyday foot traffic in densely populated parts of the Commonwealth increases the likelihood of such incidents. More than 140 pedestrians were killed in Pennsylvania in 2020, according to official figures and traffic experts.
