East Windsor, NJ (March 5, 2022) – One person was critically injured in a house fire that took place on Saturday afternoon, March 5, in East Windsor.
East Windsor Police confirmed that the fire broke out around 2:24 p.m. at 140 Bennington Drive. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found that a home was completely engulfed in flames on all levels. They also found that a resident nearby went into the home and helped out the occupant who was unable to get out of the home.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The woman who was rescued from the home sustained critical injuries. She had cuts, scrapes, and burns to her arms, legs, and head. Police confirmed that she was rushed to Cooperman Barnabus Medical Center for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene. They did not say how long it took to bring the fire under control.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
