Bus Accidents in Pennsylvania

From the moment that you board a bus, you are putting your full trust in the bus driver and the bus company. However, that trust could be violated within seconds if you are involved in a bus accident. Bus accidents are actually on the rise in the U.S. and Pennsylvania is no stranger to these catastrophic accidents. The Department of Transportation reported that, in 2015 alone, approximately 15,000 bus accidents took place, leading to over 24,000 hospitalizations. What causes one of these horrific and life-altering accidents to occur? There are several reasons that accidents such as these occur including the following:

• Distracted driving
• Falling asleep at the wheel
• Bus-related mechanical errors
• Improper training
• Speeding

Because bus accident claims can be extremely complex in nature, an injured victim may wonder what options they have if they have been injured in a Pittsburgh bus accident.

The aftermath of a bus accident in Pennsylvania can be a challenging thing to face on your own, especially if you are unfamiliar with Pennsylvania commercial vehicle accident laws. The reality of bus accidents is that many parties may be at fault in an accident like this. You may think that, just because an accident happened, the bus driver is at fault. However, there could be many parties to blame for your collision. These include the following:

• Bus or passenger vehicle driver
• Bus company
• Manufacturer of bus parts

If your life has been turned upside-down due to a bus accident, you should be prepared to speak with a knowledgeable Pittsburgh personal injury attorney who has handled these claims in the past.
