Marple Township, PA (February 21, 2023) – A multiple-vehicle accident that reportedly resulted in injuries is being investigated in the Marple Township area, per statements by local police on Tuesday, February 21.
At around 4:35 p.m., police and emergency services were summoned to the scene on northbound Pennsylvania Highway 1 near I-76 westbound. They seemed to provide assistance on the scene before transferring at least one of the accident victims to a local hospital.
As investigators completed the on-scene phase of the investigation and looked into the circumstances behind the crash, all but one lane of traffic was shut down.
The victims’ names have not been revealed, and the current conditions of all injured victims are unclear. An investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families.
Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Pennsylvania
Traffic researchers say that, throughout the span of 2020 alone, approximately 104,500 traffic accidents took place across the state of Pennsylvania. Even worse, a total of 1,132 people were killed or injured in these incidents, with another 61,251 suffering minor, moderate, or serious injuries.
Despite the fact that the number of automobile accidents is decreasing, these collisions may turn a victim’s life upside down, regardless of the cause or severity. It is critical that victims retain the services of a competent attorney as soon as possible after suffering serious injuries in a preventable accident for a multitude of reasons.
Eyewitnesses must be interviewed, photos of the area and the damaged vehicles must be taken, and other evidence must be gathered. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to acquire the evidence you need for your accident claim, such as security footage or video from surrounding businesses and witness statements.
Worse, your insurance provider may or may not depreciate or undervalue your accident claim. Emotions may run high if the accident was not your fault and the insurance company refuses to cooperate.
Keep in mind, though, that you have choices. If you’ve been injured in a car accident, speak with a Philadelphia-area car accident attorney about your legal options. They will help you navigate the legal system and have your losses insured and reimbursed correctly.
