Mount Laurel, NJ (February 14, 2022) – Around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night, February 13, a pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Mount Laurel.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of NJ-73 around the area of I-295. A pedestrian was walking along the southbound lanes when they attempted to cross the street. They were suddenly struck by a pickup truck that was traveling through the area. The driver continued onward but stopped a bit away from the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was seriously injured in the accident. They were taken to Cooper University Hospital and have been listed in critical condition. Their current condition is not known at this time.
Southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area of the accident for some time. Police did not say if they charged the driver involved in the crash.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
