Car Accident Rate in Pennsylvania
In 2014, rear-end collisions accounted for 20% of all incidents involving multiple cars in Pennsylvania. Every motorist should exercise extraordinary caution on Pennsylvania’s roads since the state records more than 20,000 incidents each year involving several cars.
Collisions involving vehicles in front of you are nearly inevitable when drivers are careless. According to a recent study, disobeying stop signs is the primary contributor to rear-end collisions in the Keystone State. Sometimes it’s easy to figure out what led to a rear-end collision, while other times, it’s a mystery how the crash happened.
Unfortunately, fatalities may still occur in situations like rear-end crashes. Even minor accidents, particularly those that occur in the rear, may cause significant bodily harm and costly property damage.
The severity of your injuries in a rear-end collision is largely determined by the other car’s rate of travel at the time of contact. Almost all rear-end collisions happen when one motorist brakes suddenly, causing the vehicle behind them to slam into them. Additionally, minor collisions may cause serious harm even if vehicles travel slowly. When the safety belt is buckled in, the seat, for instance, will automatically recline. There might be catastrophic consequences, some of which could not become evident for hours or days if you strike your seat or headrest while driving swiftly.
If you were not at fault for the accident and incurred severe injuries as a result, there is a possibility that the person who caused your accident might be compelled to pay for your medical expenses and earnings that you lost as a result of the event.
The insurance company may try to find ways around paying for the motorist’s long-term care or lost income and earning potential if the driver is permanently handicapped as a consequence of their injury. Businesses and large insurance companies may strive to avoid paying to preserve their bottom lines, even if the victims’ injuries were not their fault.
