Philadelphia, PA (April 2, 2022) – At 11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 2, two people were killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 6400 Frankford Avenue. A red Ford F-250 was traveling north on Frankford when it was it suddenly collided with a motorcycle that was also traveling in the area of Passmore Street. The driver of the Ford then lost control and struck a pedestrian that was sitting on a bench in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified as a 62-year-old man, was ejected and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. The pedestrian on the bench was also tragically pronounced deceased.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
