Headlined by the Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show, Winter in Franklin Square is still delivering the holiday spirit to Philadelphia in 2020! Some slight adaptations have been incorporated to ensure guest health and safety, but the free light show has not been limited. The Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show runs on 30-minute intervals during the evening hours of 5 pm to 9 pm. In addition, popular daytime activities are still featured at Winter in Franklin Square, such as Chilly Philly Mini Golf, Parx Liberty Carousel, and Snowy Silly Stroll. As one of the precautions, SquareBurger and Franklin Bus Food and Drink Service are not available in order to adhere to the new Philadelphia regulations. Additionally, other adaptations made to Winter in Franklin Square include sanitization stations, limited capacities, and social distancing reminders. The Franklin Square holiday attractions started on November 19th and will run until December 31st.
Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show
Daily from 5 pm to 9 pm
This year, the robust light show is even brighter with the inclusion of over 100,000 lights, which are still set to illuminate in conjunction to a playlist of classic holiday tunes! The shimmering and dancing spectacle has been one of the key holiday traditions in Philly, which was inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s electrifying genius. The approximately 15-minute show is sponsored by PECO and runs every 30-minutes.
Chilly Philly Mini Golf
Daily from 10 am to 9 pm
As a new addition in 2020, the Chilly Philly Mini Golf transforms Center City’s only miniature golf course into a holiday centric putting experience! This 18-hole game features lights, holiday music, and winter-time themes spread throughout the course. This attraction delivers affordable family fun for all ages with a $10 price for an adult ticket and an $8 price for a child’s ticket. Chilly Philly Mini Golf includes health and safety standards such as enforced social distancing.
Additional Winter in Franklin Square Activities
Daily from 10 am to 9 pm
Outside of the two major attractions, Winter in Franklin Square offers a wide variety of additional activities. Enjoy a ride on the Parx Liberty Carousel, a spectacular all-American style carousel, which plays holiday music during each ride. An activity promoting a healthy and active lifestyle is the Snowy Square Stroll, which features fun signage that shares exercise suggestions along the pathway. Finally the kids can enjoy activities on the two playgrounds at Franklin Square, which include slides, swings, and spinners.
