Philadelphia, PA (February 12, 2022) – On Saturday afternoon, February 12, a multi-vehicle collision took place on a highway in Philadelphia, causing victims to suffer injuries.
Philadelphia Police confirmed that the accident happened at 11:25 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 422 around the area of Oats/Egypt Road and Collegeville. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they apparently collided in a rear-end collision with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene by tow trucks.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims suffered from injuries caused by the accident. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The roadway was almost entirely blocked in all southbound lanes as police worked to clear the scene. This led to delays until traffic resumed as normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
