Bergen County, NJ (February 24, 2024) – A man from Union County was killed early Saturday morning, February 24, in a car crash that took place on Interstate 80 in the Bergen County area, officials said.
Trooper Troy McNair of the New Jersey State Police stated that the individual, who was a passenger in the collision, sustained fatal injuries. McNair stated that at 3:10 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on the eastbound side of Interstate 80 in Teaneck, near milepost 68.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old man from Hasbrouck Heights in a Honda was traveling eastbound when he collided with another car. According to the trooper, the driver also suffered severe injuries and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. The incident is still being investigated, according to officials. Further details regarding the collision were not available in the interim.
