Brick Township, NJ (April 1, 2022) – Around 1 a.m. on Friday morning, April 1, two girls were killed in a fatal house fire in Brick Township.
According to local officials, the fire broke out in the early morning hours at 630 Linden Street. When fire crews received the call, they quickly arrived at the scene to find the home completely engulfed in flames and smoke. The flames quickly moved through the home, billowing smoke for miles. Fire crews got inside the home to search for individuals when they found that the family was likely home.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene. Two young girls were trapped on the second floor of the home and had to be pulled out by fire crews, who attempted to revive them. The two children, identified as a 15-year-old and a 10-year-old, were both tragically pronounced dead at the hospital due to injuries caused by the fire. Four others who were in the home at the time were hospitalized as a result of their injuries.
The area was blocked off for some time after the fire. Fire crews were able to get the fire completely extinguished.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
