Chester, PA (February 4, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal crash that took place in Chester on Tuesday morning, February 1.
According to Chester City Police, the accident happened at 2600 Price Street. Police confirmed that an adult male was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck from behind by a speeding Mazda 5 driven by a 46-year-old man. The driver of the sedan then veered off the side of the road and crashed into a house. He got out of his vehicle and repeatedly struck the injured pedestrian, telling him that he was going to kill him.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help. The pedestrian was severely injured due to the crash and was rushed to a local hospital. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The 46-year-old driver has since been arrested for his role in the incident. He has been charged with criminal homicide, murder, aggravated assault, homicide by vehicle, and more.
