Coatesville, PA (March 18, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash that took place at a Coatesville intersection on Thursday night, March 17.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Strode Avenue and Madison Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. One of the vehicles went off the side of the road and slammed into the front of a home. The vehicle also struck a gas meter in front of the home.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Nobody inside the struck house was inside at the time. Two victims in the vehicles were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. One of those victims was identified as an 8-year-old child.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
