Lehigh County, PA (June 9, 2023) – The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office reported that one woman died in a vehicle crash on Mill Road near Old Route 22 on Thursday, June 8.
Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio confirmed that an 89-year-old woman died from numerous blunt force injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities say the victim was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash, though they did not say if any other injuries occurred in the incident.
Troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police said that the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of New Smithville Road and Old Route 22, between mile marker 863 and mile marker 737.
The roadway was blocked for several hours, but PSP troopers haven’t released any other details regarding the incident. An investigation remains active in the interim.
