Madison Township, PA (April 5, 2024) – A school bus accident in Perry County sent four children to an area hospital with injuries on Friday.
Pennsylvania State Police say that, around 8:30 a.m., troopers from Newport responded to the vehicle accident and found that a West Perry School District Elementary School bus had gone off the roadway. Troopers say the bus veered off Fisher Hill Road near the intersection of Dobbs Road following the wreck, striking a utility pole and several fence posts.
Sixteen students and the driver were onboard, and four students were taken to three hospitals in the area with apparent or suspected injuries. Troopers say West Perry School District administration and area EMS units responded, and parents were notified. State police are investigating the crash and asked any witnesses to come forward.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their families in hopes of their full recovery.
