Meadville, PA (October 15, 2023) – Troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville were called out to a deadly vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon.
State Police responded to the collision around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, on Harmonsburg Road in Summit Township, Crawford County.
According to the police report, a Ford F-150XLT was headed east on Harmonsburg Road while a Toyota Tacoma was heading west. The Ford pickup truck apparently lost control owing to wet road conditions, forcing it to move into oncoming traffic when the cars crashed.
The driver of the Tacoma, a man in his 70s, was declared deceased at the scene.
All others involved in the crash were brought to UPMC Hamot in serious condition: the driver and passengers of the Ford F-150, a 73-year-old Linesville woman, a 23-year-old Linesville man, and a 27-year-old Linesville man.
The Meadville Ambulance, Conneaut Lake Ambulance, Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department, Summit Township Volunteer Fire Department, Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Leonard’s Towing, PennDOT, and the Crawford County Coroners Office helped at the site. An investigation is still ongoing.
