Newark, NJ (June 15, 2024) – At around 2:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon, June 14, rescue crews were dispatched to a rollover crash on Route 7 southbound at Ogletown Stanton Road in Newark.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered that a vehicle overturned after an apparent multi-vehicle crash, and at least two people were injured. One victim self-extricated from one of the involved vehicles, while a passenger was trapped and had to be extricated. The crash resulted in significant traffic backups, causing all southbound lanes on Route 7 to be diverted onto Ogletown Stanton Road. Both victims were assessed at the scene before being transported to Christiana Hospital. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. However, officers with the Newark Police Department continued to investigate, and no further details were released in the meantime.
