Northumberland Borough, PA (June 16, 2023) – At least two vehicles collided on northbound Route 11 on Tuesday afternoon, June 13, forcing the closure of the entire highway between Route 15 and Route 147 and reportedly resulting in a handful of victim injuries.
According to the Northumberland County Fire and Rescue Department, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and left at least one victim injured and trapped within one of the vehicles involved. Firefighters were able to rescue that victim, though details about their condition were not provided.
It was also stated that EMTs were called in; however, it is unclear how many people were taken to the hospital.
The Pennsylvania State Police are currently looking into the event. Police have not commented on whether or not tickets or charges would be issued.
