Pennsauken, NJ (January 16, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash that took place at an intersection in Pennsauken on Saturday, January 15.
According to Pennsauken Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Haddonfield Road and Marion Avenue. The accident took place around 1 a.m. when the pedestrian was crossing the street and was struck by a passenger vehicle driving in the area. The driver fled the scene without stopping to check on the pedestrian.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash due to traumatic injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time.
Police continue to search for the driver who fled the scene. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
