Philadelphia, PA (January 3, 2024) – On Wednesday night, the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 were briefly closed in the Bridgesburg district of Philadelphia due to a hit-and-run collision, according to the police.
Authorities said the collision occurred on northbound I-95 close to Aramingo Avenue around 6:15 p.m. Two individuals fled from one of the vehicles after the collision, per authorities, as they sprinted off I-95. Officers with the Philadelphia Police Department eventually apprehended the suspects near Tacony Street and Aramingo Avenue.
Police said that no one was seriously hurt in the collision, though at least two people were taken to a local medical center by Philadelphia EMTs. No further details have been released in the meantime and the events leading up to the collision remain unknown. The PPD continues to investigate the crash.
