Philadelphia, PA (February 4, 2023) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a highway in Philadelphia on Saturday, February 4.
According to officers with the Philadelphia Police Department, the accident happened around 11:45 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-76 around the area of Roosevelt Boulevard and Highway 1. Per authorities on the scene, two cars collided in a possible chain-reaction crash.
EMTs and first responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries in the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, multiple right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene, however.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
