Philadelphia, PA (November 28, 2022) – A man in a wheelchair was killed, and two others suffered injuries after suspects in a stolen vehicle allegedly caused an accident in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood.
On Saturday night, shortly after 9:00 p.m., according to the police, they were pursuing a stolen Cadillac Escalade.
At the intersection of Aramingo Avenue and Castor Avenue, the driver of the stolen vehicle crashed into two other cars, a man in a wheelchair, and fled from the scene of the accident.
The wheelchair-bound 38-year-old man was rushed to the hospital but ultimately declared deceased upon arrival.
One of the cars involved in the collision was driven by a 27-year-old woman, while the other had an 11-year-old child inside. They were both transferred to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The four occupants of the stolen car drove away from the scene. A short while later, one individual was apprehended and taken into custody.
The three other suspects are said to be in their late teens and are still at large. Police are requesting that anybody with information come forward. In the meantime, their investigation continues.
We extend our sincere condolences to the deceased victim’s family. Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of their full recovery.
