The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. in the Mayfair district of the city. At that time, the driver of a gray Toyota Camry allegedly slammed into a motorcycle operated by a 47-year-old man, and the crash was caught on surveillance camera. According to the police, the man was riding his motorcycle north on Frankford Avenue when the Toyota’s driver, attempting to turn from a car wash parking lot, collided with his bike.
The motorcyclist was critically injured in the collision, and his 2019 Harley Davidson was destroyed. He was transferred to an area hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
In the meantime, an eyewitness tried to stop the motorist, but he fled the scene.
The Philadelphia police have begun their search for the vehicle’s driver, identified only as an adult male of unknown age. Witnesses were asked to contact the police if they had any further information.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his loved ones. We hope for his complete recovery.
