Philadelphia, PA (May 31, 2022) – On Tuesday, May 31, just after 10:30 p.m., there was a multi-vehicle collision in the greater Philadelphia area that resulted in potential injuries to two drivers and the passengers in those vehicles.
The I-95 northbound lanes at Exits 13 to Interstate 76 and 17 to Broad Street were the location of the incident, as determined by the investigations conducted by the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD). Unknown factors caused a collision between two automobiles that were moving through the area at the same time. It is believed that one of the vehicles sideswiped the other when they were merging, which resulted in an accident involving other vehicles as well as considerable damage to all cars involved.
First responders were sent to the area in order to provide assistance to any and all injured victims. At least one individual sustained injuries as a result of the occurrence; however, there is no information on the nature or degree of those injuries, nor their current state.
Investigations into the specific circumstances surrounding the cause of the incident are still ongoing at this time. The Philadelphia Police Department has urged that any witnesses and anybody else who may have information on the event contact them as soon as possible.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the victims and their families, and we hope that they will make a full recovery as soon as possible.
Highway Car Wrecks Occurring in Philadelphia County
According to the most recent statistics that will be released by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, there were a total of 10,108 vehicle accidents reported in Philadelphia County in the year 2020. This information was obtained from the year 2020 data (the highest reported in any county throughout the Commonwealth). In addition to that, there are an average of 28 car accidents that take place every single day in Philadelphia County.
Regrettably, roughly 12,000 or more multi-vehicle crashes were reported by Philadelphia County authorities throughout 2016 alone.

And when compared to the other big cities, Philadelphia has one of the greatest rates of deaths caused by automobile accidents for every 100,000 of its residents, making it one of the worst cities overall. To be more exact, there are 6 fatalities per 100,000 individuals in Philadelphia, whereas in New York City there are only 2.87 deaths per 100,000 people. When compared to Los Angeles, which has 5.74 deaths per 100,000 population, Boston’s rate of only 1.93 fatalities per 100,000 residents makes it the lowest in the country.
Accidents are certainly tense and upsetting events that may make you anxious about the future and lead you to feel helpless in the present. If you were involved in a vehicle accident that wasn’t your fault but was unfortunately caused by a reckless or inattentive driver, then the issue becomes a lot more serious for you.
