Fatalities in Philadelphia Car Accidents
People often picture high-velocity highway collisions when they think about tragic car accidents. However, this is not always the case. According to research conducted by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, the number of people killed in automobile accidents on typical city streets has risen dramatically in recent years.
Pennsylvania as a whole and Philadelphia specifically are not immune to this plague. The terrible fact for Pennsylvania is that 1,230 people lost their lives in road accidents that year, as reported by the state’s transportation agency. That year, events ranging from small fender-benders to catastrophic chain reactions involving dozens or even hundreds of automobiles occurred throughout the state.
Even if you believe yourself to be one of the safest drivers out there, you are almost certain to become a victim due to the rising number of car accidents. Knowing what to do in the aftermath of an accident is crucial for ensuring your legal and financial security. If the policyholder is unable to work as a result of their injuries, the irresponsible driver’s insurance company may attempt to reject coverage for long-term care, lost income, and future earnings.
