Philadelphia, PA (August 14, 2023) – After a major collision on Monday morning, August 14, in Northeast Philadelphia, several individuals were rescued from their vehicles and rushed to the hospital.
According to the Philadelphia Fire Department, the accident occurred at 1:00 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Levick Street and Tulip Street in Tacony. News footage showed severe damage to at least five vehicles.
Per initial accounts, several persons were also trapped inside one of the cars. Rescuers freed the victims and transferred multiple victims to Torresdale Hospital, though their current conditions remain unknown.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the wreck and have not provided further details in the meantime.
