Philadelphia, PA (March 21, 2022) – Around 12:40 a.m. on Monday morning, March 21, two troopers and a civilian were killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 around the area of the local sports complex. Two troopers, identified as a 33-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, were responding to a call for a man walking along the roadway. They attempted to get the man into custody, but this is when a speeding vehicle drove through the area, striking all three men. The troopers were forcefully thrown into the other traffic lane due to the collision’s severity. The driver continued onward for some time before striking a barrier, where her vehicle stopped.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. All three pedestrians were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. The last pedestrian’s identity has not yet been released.
Police did not say if the young driver who struck the three pedestrians has since been charged for the accident.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
