Philadelphia, PA (August 30, 2023) – A serious rollover collision involving several vehicles occurred on Main Street on Monday, and a woman from Kosciusko has been named as the deceased victim.
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons, a 22-year-old woman from Kosciusko was killed in the collision.
On Monday, at around 7:40 a.m., police were called to the area of Main Street and Evergreen Avenue in response to reports of a multiple-car collision involving an ejection.
Lyons claims that three cars were involved in the collision, one of which was a blue Jeep that flipped and ejected the victim. A baby was in a car seat inside the same vehicle but sustained only minor injuries. Per the police report, bystanders helped remove the child from the car before police arrived.
The woman was brought to Neshoba General Hospital, where she was declared dead. It’s unclear if any other injuries were reported, though officers continue to investigate.
We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased woman’s family members and loved ones. Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of their full recovery.
Fatalities in Philadelphia Auto Accidents
Rear-end crashes are the second most prevalent kind of car accident, according to data collected from Pennsylvania roadways over the last year. More than 20,000 incidents each year involving several vehicles are reported in Pennsylvania, so drivers there should exercise extra caution.
Reckless driving is a frequent cause of accidents. In Pennsylvania, cars that disregard traffic lights are the primary cause of rear-end accidents. Sometimes, it’s easy to see who’s at blame in a rear-end incident, but other times it might be more complicated.
In a rear-end collision, the degree of injury is largely determined by the speed of the vehicle that caused the collision. Most rear-end collisions occur when one motorist suddenly stops, sending the vehicle in front of them careening into oncoming traffic.
If you were injured in a rear-end collision, the irresponsible driver should cover your medical expenses and lost income.
If a policyholder is rendered permanently disabled due to a vehicle accident, the insurance company may attempt to avoid paying for the policyholder’s long-term care or lost income and future earning potential.
