Pittsburgh, PA (July 29, 2025) – A bicyclist sustained injuries on Sunday afternoon, July 27, in a collision with a vehicle in Pittsburgh’s Strip District.
Police responded to reports of a crash between a vehicle and a bike around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Smallman and 13th Streets. According to public safety officials, the driver was trying to make a turn when their vehicle collided with a man on a bicycle. The cyclist sustained injuries, including shoulder pain, officials said, and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Officials said the driver remained on the scene and cooperated with officers. The wreck occurred just outside the perimeter of an OpenStreetsPGH event, which allows pedestrians and bicyclists to travel on certain roads that are closed to vehicle traffic.
Officers are reviewing video footage to determine what led to Sunday’s incident, but officials said it did not appear to be intentional. In the meantime, an investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been provided.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones in hopes of their full recovery.
