Serious Vehicle Crashes in Pennsylvania
Recent data from Pennsylvania traffic analysts reveals a troubling pattern: head-on collisions, T-bone crashes, and rear-end accidents remain among the deadliest types of motor vehicle crashes across the state. These high-impact collisions often result in catastrophic injuries or fatalities, highlighting the urgent need for greater caution on the road. With more than 20,000 multi-vehicle accidents reported annually in Pennsylvania, fatal crashes are an all-too-common tragedy faced by families from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia.
Many fatal rear-end collisions are caused by reckless drivers who disregard traffic signals or follow too closely at unsafe speeds. While fault in some crashes may seem straightforward, identifying the liable party can become far more complex in cases involving multiple vehicles, shared responsibility, or limited evidence. In deadly crashes—especially head-on impacts—the severity of injuries often correlates with the speed and negligence of the at-fault driver.
When someone loses their life in a preventable crash, their surviving loved ones are left to bear the emotional and financial burden. Funeral expenses, lost income, and loss of companionship are just some of the damages that families may be entitled to recover. Yet, insurers often challenge these claims, particularly those involving long-term financial loss and future earnings—adding insult to injury during a time of grief.
