Sayreville, NJ (February 2, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal house fire that took place in the early morning hours in Sayreville on Wednesday, February 2.
According to police, the accident happened around 2:18 a.m. at 10 Kuberski Drive. Fire crews received phone calls from multiple sources and immediately arrived at the scene, where they found heavy smoke and fire pouring out of the rear second-story window. When fire crews tried to break into the home, the heavy smoke and fire stopped them from getting through. However, officers determined that the male who lived there was likely inside, as his vehicle was in the driveway.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to assist. Fire crews pulled the 65-year-old man out of the home where he was tragically pronounced dead due to his severe injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the fire for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
