Snow Shoe Township, PA (August 11, 2025)— According to authorities, a man died after being struck by a vehicle in Snow Shoe Township on the morning of Monday, August 11.
The crash occurred near 730 East Sycamore Road and prompted a significant emergency response. According to the Snow Shoe Fire Company, crews from Company 6 and Company 17 (Pine Glen) were dispatched, along with Engine Rescue 17, due to a manpower shortage.
At 9:16 a.m., the fire company reported a cardiac arrest at the scene. A helicopter rescue team initially checked weather conditions before being placed on standby with a 16-minute estimated arrival time. At 9:44 a.m., the second helicopter rescue team was advised to stand down, and the coroner was requested.
By 9:55 a.m., officials announced that East Sycamore Road would remain closed for an extended period during the investigation. The roadway was shut down between Rees’ Truckstop and Fountain Road. The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the incident, however.
We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased man’s family members.
Pedestrian Accidents in Pennsylvania
Fatal pedestrian accidents remain a serious and persistent issue across Pennsylvania, especially in busy urban areas like Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs. Each year, these tragic incidents result in a disproportionately high number of deaths compared to other types of traffic collisions.

According to recent data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), pedestrians face a much higher risk of fatal injury in crashes than occupants of motor vehicles. One of the biggest challenges for victims and their families is proving fault, as insurance companies often work aggressively to minimize payouts on claims.
Pedestrians lack the protection offered by vehicles, making them extremely vulnerable in collisions. Injuries sustained in these accidents are often severe or fatal, and the emotional toll on victims’ families can be overwhelming. If you or a loved one has been seriously injured or killed in a pedestrian accident caused by someone else’s negligence, it’s crucial to seek the help of an experienced Pennsylvania pedestrian accident attorney without delay.

After a fatal pedestrian accident, families are often left grappling with overwhelming grief, emotional trauma, and unexpected financial burdens, including funeral costs, lost income, and other expenses. During such a difficult time, it’s important to know that you may have legal grounds to pursue justice and compensation from the at-fault party.
