Swissvale, PA (December 21, 2023) – A man was killed in a rollover crash that occurred on the Swissvale side of I-376 near the Squirrel Hill Tunnels on Sunday afternoon, per local authorities.
The outbound lanes of the tunnel between the Beechwood Boulevard and Swissvale/Edgewood exits were closed due to the collision, which occurred on the eastbound side of I-376 at around 12:20 p.m. One of the drivers, a 50-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police. The total number of vehicles involved is unknown, and it’s also unclear how many people were injured in the incident. News footage showed several EMTs at the scene, however. No further details have been provided, but the PSP is handling an active investigation into the wreck during the interim.
