Woodlyn, PA (March 1, 2023) – A handful of drivers and two passengers reportedly sustained injuries in a multiple-vehicle wreck that unfolded on a busy Woodlyn-area roadway on Wednesday, March 1.
The crash occurred at 5:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 476 at Interstate 276, according to the Woodlyn Police.
The cause of the collision is still unknown, but the two to three vehicles involved were so seriously damaged that they had to be removed from the scene.
Numerous first responders, including Woodlyn Fire and Emergency Medical Services units, raced to the scene of the event. Two or three persons were wounded and sent to neighboring hospitals for treatment, but the police have disclosed neither their names nor the degree of their injuries.
As the police surveyed the accident scene for over an hour, traffic backed up. The area has since reopened, but Woodlyn authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families. We hope for their complete recovery.
