East Windsor, NJ (February 7, 2022) – Around 6:28 a.m. on Monday morning, February 7, a man was injured in a serious car crash in East Windsor.

According to New Jersey State Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike around the area of mile marker 65. A tractor-trailer was traveling south in the area at the same time as a Nissan Rogue. Police stated that a second tractor-trailer was disabled on the side of the road. For reasons that are still being investigated, the Nissan and the first tractor-trailer collided with one another. This caused the Nissan to also strike the tractor-trailer on the side of the road. The Nissan sustained heavy damages as a result.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Nissan, identified only as a 23-year-old man from Iselin, was seriously injured in the accident. He was rushed to the hospital, though his current condition is not yet known.

Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
