Chester, PA (May 5, 2022) – A multi-vehicle collision that led to injuries happened on a highway near a bridge in Chester on Wednesday afternoon, May 4.
Philadelphia Police confirmed that the accident happened past 12:50 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 around the area of the Commodore Barry Bridge. Several vehicles were traveling on the highway when they collided due to reasons that are still under investigation. Police confirmed that the vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Local medics and fire crews were called to the scene. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the crash. The victims were transported to a local hospital, though their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes until police were able to clear the scene.
